Musical Christmas Tree

No, this is not a Christmas tree that plays Jingle Bell Rock ( although that would be, admittedly, amazing). Instead this is a craft project that I did as a gift to my brother and his girlfriend.
I started with a cardboard cone and some old 1940's sheet music I found at the salvation army. Will a glue gun and my Christmas playlistism on Pandora, I came up with this cute little creation.

Vintage Pastoral Picture

I must admit, I am a little sad that I can't keep this adorable picture. Unfortunately I have nowhere to put and neither does my Grammy who has had it for the past ten years.

There is a slight mar in the paint on the left side. This can be easily painted over, or left for a more shabby chic look.

Something completely different...

Hello All!

I know, I know. It has been quite a while since I've updated. I'm a bad, bad person. Even worse, I don't have any new designs to share. Please, don't get sad and don't tar and feather me. I promise I will be putting up some work for Halloween soon. Never fear.

I do, however, have some lovely vintage and antique wares that I am selling for my Grammy. If you are in the Southern California area and are interesting please comment or send me a message :) I will be posting them each individually with their prices shortly.

Until then, adieu.

Sincerely,

Pickwick

Macduff's Child Fascinator

For Macduff's Child, I created a smaller fascinator on a headband. This seemed to work really well for Lauryn, the actress playing the part. Originally, the hat was more neutral colors, but they added red, blue, and purple to her costume so I followed suit. Strangely enough, it added that perfect touch that the hat needed to make it pop.

You can see the added colors in the feathers.

Close-up.
Lauryn really loves her headband. In fact, she said she plans on wearing it for Halloween this year :)

Lady Macbeth's Fascinator

Lady Macbeth's Fascinator
Part of the reason that I haven't been online lately is because I am in a production of Shakespeare's most epic tragedy Macbeth. Since the play is set in a post-apocalyptic steampunk Scotland I became the default accessory maven. I'm not complaining though. I love steampunk and I love accessories, so there you go. Anyhow, I thought it would be nice to post some photos of the work I did for the show.

Front Shot
The first piece I completed was Lady Macbeth's fascinator. The pictures I have don't do it justice, particularly when paired with her awesome costume (although Lady M's costume was one of the few that the costumer got right -- more on that later). Hopefully, at one of our last performances this weekend I can get a proper picture of Becky wearing it.

Welcome Fellow Travelers!

We have come here to bring you fabulous altered clothing and hand crafted accessories. We enjoy creating the new and unique from the old and boring. We are putting together some images of our work and will post them shortly!

But first we must go thrifting because it's Friday and everything at the Salvation Army is half off!

Happy hunting!

Sincerely,
